What I Spent Saturday Doing

Since my favorite children's consignment sale (All 4 Kids) is coming up this week, I had to sort through the older 2 children's clothes for the Fall to see what I needed.  I am happy to say that despite the moans and groans from Cooper and Kindle, I am done.  I dislike having to get them to try clothes on every season because they just take FOREVER.  There is always at least one item that was their "favorite" that they insist still fits despite the fact that their tummy is hanging out the bottom and the long sleeve shirt has turned into 3/4 length on the arms.  Ugh!  I am happy to say we survived.

Earlier in the year, I purchased Wonder Hangers.  They do a great job on TV convincing you that your closet space will double or triple if you use them.  I am here to tell you it is not true.  It still takes up the same space, however, I do like them because it helps the clothes to be more organized.  I went through and put all of the shirts together, skirts together, dresses together, etc.  I didn't have enough Wonder Hangers to do all of their clothes, but at least I have the Fall clothes sorted on the hangers.

The Boy's Closet

My next task will be organizing Grant and Celeste's clothes.  I am really counting on the hand me downs from their older siblings.  All of my boy's clothes have been through Cooper, Grant & now Gunnar.  My girl's clothes have been through Kindle, my niece, Ella and Celeste.  The great thing is that most of the clothes are still in great condition.

I have also been very blessed over the years by people giving me hand me down clothes.  I have learned that if someone is offering you hand me down clothes, take them!  Even if they are a bit worn out or not your taste, they can be play clothes or pajamas.  This has saved me from spending unnecessary money on clothes no one but our family ever sees :)

So Thankful for my PiddlePad

Tonight, we went out and all of my cloth diapers were dirty, so I put Gunnar in a disposable.  Of course, as soon as we put him in the car seat, he decides to do a huge poop explosion.  When we stopped to change his diaper, we found that it had gotten all over his shorts.  I thought about how thankful I am for my Kiddopotamus Deluxe PiddlePad.  I got one when my 3rd child was born.  I used it for him and my 4th child until it got lost in transport on an airplane flight.  So one of the first things I asked for when I found out I was pregnant with number 5, was a PiddlePad.

Basically, you lay this waterproof pad in your car seat under your child's behind.  So when your child has a poop blowout, you don't have to take the fabric off your car seat and wash it.  You can just lift the PiddlePad out and wash it and you are good to go.  Over the years, I have been thankful for this product on many occasions.  I wish I knew about it with child 1 and 2.  It would have come in sooo handy.  There was nothing worst than needing to go somewhere and having to wash and dry my car seat fabric.  Or being out and my child would have a poop explosion and I had no options for how to clean the car seat off.  I would highly recommend this product for all newborn babies!

Life through the Lens of a 3 Year Old

Grant, our photographer (picture taken by Mommy)
Whenever, I sync my iPhone with my computer I am always surprised to discover the photos that I did not take that are on my phone.  Lots of the time they are really dark or extremely blurry.  Sometimes, they are pretty good shots.  Grant, my 3 year old, is the main one that takes them.  Here is a sampling.

Blankie, his most prized possession

All of the children have a big interest in photography.  I am sure having a photographer as a Father helps!

Voting, Flip Flops & Sweetness

Gunnar and I Voted

I took Gunnar to vote today.  He slept almost the entire time except right at the end.  I was the youngest person at my polling place by at least half.  All of the poll workers oohed and aahed over Gunnar.

My Twinkle Toe Bows Flip Flops

I picked up the flip flops that I won in the giveaway from Twinkle Toe Bows.  They are super cute and very comfortable.  It is kind of hard to tell in this photo, but the zebra print is black and light pink.  I wish my oldest daughter, Kindle, would wear flip flops so we could have matching ones.  She just hates all thong sandals :(

Sweet Celeste

I love this picture of Celeste.  I wish it wasn't so blurry, but I captured it with my iPhone and it is so hard to get a picture of her that is not blurry because she is always moving.  She is so sweet.  Always giving kisses and hugs and telling you that she loves you.  She is my little Princess.

Gunnar is 2 Months Old

Gunnar doing his fist bump

Today Gunnar is 2 months old today.  I weighed him and he is 12lbs 4oz.  He is such a good baby.  He is sleeping from about 9:30 or 10 at night to 7:30 or 8 in the morning.  Hurray!  He is taking great naps.  He also loves his swing.
Swinging peacefully

He is definitely at thumbsucker like all of his brothers and sisters before him.  He is so smiley and happy.

The New bumGenius 4.0 Diapers with Snaps

On Friday, I was so excited because my order from Cotton Babies arrived containing the new bumGenius 4.0 diaper.  I decided to try their new color Sweet and get the one with snaps.  This was my first time trying a cloth diaper with snaps.  All of my other diapers are bumGenius 3.0 diapers with a hook & loop so I have been very curious to see the difference.  I spent yesterday washing and drying the diaper with my new bumGenius detergent that I also ordered.  Today, we gave the diaper a try and I am very happy!  The material is very stretchy and soft.  I just started using my cloth diapers because he was leaking out of all of the disposables.  I am happy to say that even with a huge breastmilk poop, we had no leaks.  Yay!  I can't wait to get more!  Here are a few more photos in his new diaper.
